 Stravinsky trio
Author: Francesca

Hello all! I'm hoping to play Stravinsky's "Epitaphium" on my junior recital. It's a trio for clarinet, flute, and harp. I've only heard a MIDI version of it. I have a recording on the way. I just thought I'd see if anybody was familiar with it. Thoughts/opinions are welcome. Thanks!

Which recording did you get? I'm also planning to play it soon. Where did you find the midi version?

Sorry I can't answer your questions!!

I played Epitaphium once in college as well as analyzed it.

When you learn the 12 tone row of this very brief piece you will be on your way to having a better understanding of it.

By the way - the original plan was for 2 flutes and harp. The decision to substitute the clarinet for one of the flute parts was made based on other works on the same program...GBK
