 Midwest Band Clinic Performances
Author: Joel K.
Date:   2003-12-20 15:43

For anyone interested, Midwest Clinic performances (realaudio/video) from this week are available within 24 hours of the concerts at:

The Birmingham Symphonic Winds' concert includes a performance of the Martin Ellerby Clarinet Concerto. Enjoy!

Thanks for the plug Joel! Shame it got so frustrating waiting for the web browser to download the next 30 secs or so!

I would have responded earlier but have only returned to the UK today after spending an extra week in Chicago.

We had a fantastic time attending the clinic - The warm-up concert we did 2 nights before in a high school was quite an eye-opener for all of the band. We were overwelmed, both by the hospitality and the quality of the facilities at the school.

Well I play Eb (and bass in the Chicago concerts) in BSW

I probably should have made that clearer - though as I only got home today jet lag is having an effect!

Glad to hear your trip went well, and it's especially nice to see the concert online (though it can never compare to hearing it live).

Daugherty is fun stuff, isn't it?

I was at Midwest and was overwhelmed by the number of people in attendance. One thing I was bothered by however was how disinterested many of the vendors acted. Perhaps being female (probably 10 per cent of the people in attendance were women) I am not taken as seriously, but I did find some of the vendors very patronizing.

As far as the music I heard was concerned....GREAT.

CJB- Cool!

Do you have an AIM s/n or MSN or Yahoo or something?

If not, can we chat through email? All my info is in my "profile" on this site.
