Checking out ebay.....and there are a zillion olegatures for sale.....all well below the price of retail? What gives? Too many manufactured? Not selling? What? I have one and paid retail. It's a GREAT lig. I have noticed however everyone selling them now are showing them as "non" inverted.
That's WRONG. The Olegature is meant to be INVERTED. The mesh goes on the reed not the Screw side. Anyway....bottom line is.....why are they on ebay so cheap?

I just got one for a good price on eBay a couple of weeks ago --- it's more cheaply made than I expected, works pretty well but after a bunch of 'comparison tests' I've ranked it #4 after a Harrison, a Rovner, and a Bonade inverted. They're probably cheap right now because (IMHO) they were quite overpriced at their previous retail price and whoever sells them probably has quite a bit of unsold inventory.

I used to use them. I really liked the sound, but the design was a little dodgy, and they kept croaking on me.
As you tighten the screws, the threaded blocks "roll inwards" and the screws bend. The metal the screws are made out of is pretty poor quality.
They've been breaking like biscuits, and I've run out of them. And it's a shade smaller thread than all the old metal ligatures I've had knocking around for years with not a single break ever.
Green String BG Super Revelations suit me now. Much nicer metal, and they pull on round floating rods, so that the tightening force is always along the long axis of the screw for least stress and no bending at all.
I would go back if I could find some spare screws. In high tensile unobtanium, preferably...

I played one for a couple of years and loved it, but had the same experiences as David with breaking screws. Tried a Vandoren Optimum and liked it better anyway.
Perhaps Rico is dumping the olegatures in anticipation of marketing an improved design.
