Info for old metal clarinet?

I just bought an old metal clarinet and can't find any information about the brand of it anywhere. I was just wondering if anyone had any information about when it was made.

Here is what I know:

*Engraved on the bell with
BENAL Albert A. Knecht Philadelphia, Penna
*Serial # 54509

I did a bit of looking and learned that Albert Knecht was a saxophonist in the John Philip Sousa band in the early 1900's.

The clarinet is in rough condition but that is ok with me. I hope someone can give me a clue to help me figure out where it came from and how old this may be.

Knecht was partners in the Henton-Knecht music company in Philadelphia with Benne Henton, another ex-Sousa saxophonist (in fact virtuoso altoist). This might be the same company or another one.

The horn was almost certainly made for them by someone else, though without seeing it, it's impossible to tell by whom. It's not likely to be a very high quality horn (most metal clarinets weren't, except for a few pro models).
