Was there ever an Eb clarinet part for the D clarinet standard in this piece? I remember someone asking at some time in the past. I am in need of this part, so if someone can forward it, I would be grateful. Or maybe information on it's location can be shared. Thanks in advance!

I'd like to get this part also. We play this piece every few years.

It is fairly easy to transpose the D part to Eb with music editing software. I'd be glad to transpose it if you like. Write me off-line.

I transpose it and I think it sounds better on Eb! But if you can't transpose have the REFACEMAN do it! A very nice offer.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my request. Tim Wright sent me a beautiful hand-written transposition. If someone is in need, contact him at <twright3109@yahoo.com>. I didn’t ask for permission to share, but I’m fairly certain if one contacts him, he will help you.

Since the 1st post on this topic I have been working at least 4 hours a day on a conversion from an original PDF of the D clarinet into an Eb part using Sibelius. It has been a battle trying to get Sibelius to do some simple classical music edits and work around the bugs.
Anyway, I have completed a ‘Beta’ version and would like those who know the part or may be playing the part soon to take a look and find any errors before I release a final version.
Some caveats;
1) Sibelius does not do part cues – I labeled the measures as rests with the cue instrument name.
2) Sibelius does not do tremolos – I used trills.
3) Sibelius likes to concatenate groups of multi-rests, so to keep them separate I used double bar lines.
4) Sibelius does not do Russian translation and I don’t have a source, so if anyone can help, let me know.
5) Sibelius does not do trills with accidentals – users will have to write the accidentals in.
Email me with Eb transposition in the Subject line and I will provide the original and the transposition.

Hi Ken, I think most of your points can be solved with plug-ins. If you are interested, we can discuss further.

Ken,
I'm afraid you are wrong on all counts. I have been using Sibelius since it came to the US in the '90's.
Unfortunately I cannot help you out at the moment because I am going out of town for a few weeks (subbing with HSO and a road trip after that).
If you can wait until the end of the month, I can help you.
