 Eberl - who's that?

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they played:

Eberl Symphony in E flat, op.33

I've not been able to find out anything about this composer (contemporary of Mozart/Beethoven). GBK - any clues? His clarinet writting was lovely and his musical style very distinctive.

diz, Eberl was a student of W. A. Mozart (as I recall -- don't quote me on that). For a good intro to Eberl, go to http://cpa.feynsinn.de/eng/eberl/eberl.html

Regards,
John

John - thanks, wonderful link - I'll order the Teldec CD. His music is so compelling and original - shame he was in Mozart's shadow otherwise he might very well have been much better known.
