hi, i'd like to know how to do that glisando like in the beginning of raphsody in blue?
is it possible to explain it here?

If you type in the word(s): "glissando", "smear", "gliss", "rhapsody glissando", etc... (no quotes and check spelling carefully) into the Search option you will find a wealth of information written by a number of fine players.

This is not to avoid answering your question, but this subject is very common and one that has been written about extensively.

Searching first will often answer a majority of common topics. If you still have questions after searching and reading, don't hesitate to ask...GBK

Get a book of orchestral excerpts and look in there for the entire solo. Start out with a run to D (the second one from the bottom) and from there, drop the pitch by dropping your jaw. Then, with your jaw dropped, slide your fingers off the keys all the way up to C. Some excerpt books have a explanation of how to do that.

Not that hard...only trick is getting between the bridge on the F and G while keeping a consistent tone.

If you don't want to do the full gliss you can always just take it from the G, but still...keep the tone.
