Put your teeth on the reed and tell me how high you can go.

I think I've had 6th grade students play much higher than a G7 (accidentally, of course)!!

I can play considerably higher, by playing partials...

I aim for my high E, and another note comes out (not from my horn).

Synonymous,
I've been trying my whole musical life to do that... so maybe someday, if I keep working at it, the note I'm aiming for will come out.

Is there really any reason to try to play that high, other than just as a feather in your cap? I can't seem to imagine many musical applications...

PS - the highest I can go, without teeth, is an Eb7. I've never had to play that note, but it's nice to be able to play all scales 3 octaves (see, feather in cap) = )

The highest note ever to emerge from my Clarinet was a G7, but that was while using a #4 reed. With my usual stetup, which includes a #2 reed, no way I'm usually happy playing nothing above G6.

John

I think I've played higher. I didn't hear anything coming out, but all of sudden my dog went wild barking. But I don't have the equipment to PROVE it was me that made it happen.

PS - Now my dog runs away anytime I take out the clarinet . . .

My dog runs away as soon as I reach for my clarinet case. She gives me a disappointed "Oh, that thing again?" look.

G7 is the highest note I've ever seen written. Unless someone finds anything higher, that's all you'll need.

Which is G7, three or four octaves above low G? If it's four octaves, I'm flabbergasted that those notes are even possible without biting the reed.

The highest note I've ever tried to play is high C, but the highest note I can get out in my first try is A above the 4th ledger line.

The highest pitch I've ever got is G7. The highest pitch that I've got that I would be willing to call a note is E7. Normally my range goes up to C7, but only up to A7 is reliable, but that is getting better with practice. The only thing with C7 is that I keep overshooting it and getting the E above it.
