Have just come back from a successful World Record attempt!
"The fastest production and performance of a musical"
23 hrs and 30mins to put on "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"
Late on Friday the envelopes were opened and the show was announced.
Cast and stage crew worked and rehearsed through the night.
Costumes donated made/altered, scenery designed and built, words memorised, lighting and sound crews organised, choreography organised.
6 piece band arrived 10-00am Sat, picked up scores, sight read, patched different parts together, DR 4-35pm show 7-30pm to a tumultuous welcome.
Raised £2500 for charity.
Fabulous but tired atmosphere.
Never played the show before, but some wonderful music in it. (esp clar and B clar).
Amazed at the quality of the show - so why do other am shows take a season to put together when this can be done so quickly and well ?

I'm assuming this is a rhetorical question ... good and original choreography alone takes significantly more than a day to arrange, then there's working with the dancers ...
