Does anyone happen to know what type of mouthpiece Robert Hill of the London Philhamonic uses? I met him once and he told me that he uses old Boosey and Hawkes 1010's but he didnt mention what his mouthpiece is. He is a wonderful player, very beautiful sound.

I think we had this one a few months ago. Anyway, here goes. Apparently he does and has played on a variety of mouthpieces. I was told by my mouthpiece maker that he played on one with a 1.4 mm tip opening, which is big by any standards. If he plays on 1010s or instruments of that ilk, then he will need a straight bore 1010 mouthpiece (whether or not made by B&H) to play in tune.
