krawfish3x, diz is in the land of Oz, aka Australia.

diz, when I saw the subject, I thought maybe you just got a divorce. Whew!

Thanks for your good wishes. And I'm still sorry we got the Puritans and you got the convicts. You got the better deal.

Regards,
John

sure you are..... hehe j/k
It seems England just sent off all it's unwanted citizens to other places. My homeland being Jamaica- I know that they sent all their pirates thy couldn't be seen with to Haiti and Jamaica, ofcourse sending the politicians they didn't want to promote in their own govt. to become Viceroys etc. I know this is completely out of the blue and not many will care about all of this lol, but I hope all of us former colonies return the favour to the old U.K. one day soon.

Thanks, diz. But no fireworks or outdoor fun here today in rainy Corpus Christi, TX. At least it's a day off from work.

Do you guys do anything similar for ANZAC Day or Australia Day?

Bradley- I'm part Sephardic Jew and my ancestors got moved around the world so many times that it's impossible to even figure out where they originated (though my uncle seems to have narrowed it down to either Spain or Portugal). And they lived in Falmouth, Jamaica for quite a long time.

Courtesy of Alexei Sayle:

An Englishman walked into the Australian High Commission in London to obtain a visa for his holiday. The civil servant behind the desk took out the relevant form and began to take the man's details.

The questioning followed the usual pattern. Name, occupation, business or pleasure, etc.

The civil servant asked "Criminal record?"

The man replied "I didn't know you still needed one!" [happy]
