After Graham Golden aroused my acquisatory passions by sending me a really remarkable Blayman bass clarinet mouthpiece to try, and then refusing to sell it to me, Dave Spiegelthal came through for me by imitating the performance of the Blayman mouthpiece, and improving it by adding a bit more dynamic range. He used a J. J. Babbitt blank, the same as the original Blayman. This is the 2nd time Dave has solved a tricky problem for me. Thanks Dave! Also, my thanks to Graham for generously allowing me to keep the original long enough to have it duplicated, and for suggesting that I ought to have Dave duplicate it.
The finished mouthpiece is particularly noteworthy for the ease of transitions between notes, a dark sound, and a wide dynamic range.
