hi, what mouthpiece would you recommend for bass clarinet?
i was a classical player for about 12 years but then switched to jazz about a year ago. now i need a new outhpiece that will work good for jazz. what i have is the vanderon B45, which i don't really like, and it's a little hard to play, and also a pomarico crystal #1 which is too closed and easy. i was thikning about either the pomarico crystal #3 which is suppose to be a lot more open, and maybe a morgan mouthpiece. i only heard about morgan a few days ago but someone recommended it to me. any help will be appreciated.
thank you.

Someone asked this very same question on the "SaxOnTheWeb" BB just a few days ago, to which my answer was (ain't it grand to quote oneself?):

In no particular order: Clark Fobes, David Hite, Charles Bay, Walter Grabner, Roger Garrett, Pomarico, Selmer C*, Vandoren B45

Very well said, Dave, please include your name ! Your refacing of my Pomarico is the best I've found for my older Selmer 33. It surpasses even a refaced C* and a Pom 3, as well as a [good] Bundy 3 in response and freedom from squeeking. My advice, try all the mps you can find! Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

My Walter Grabner customized Selmer C* works for me on my Buffet low C bass. Most of my performing, however, is classical on soprano LeBlancs--although I do double on sax and flute for jazz gigs.
