Hi all,
Has anyone tried those vibration sensors that you plug into your tuner and "clip" to the instrument? I see Korg and Peterson each have one out. The Peterson seems easier to clip to clarinet barrels due to its more "open shape" than the Korg. I understand the concept but do they work well?

I really like mine. It allows me to check my intonation in a group setting. It has been especially helpful recently since I just got a new R13 a month ago. After 25 years on my previous clarinet (Leblanc L7), I am still trying to "unlearn" all the subconscious adjustments I made for that instrument.

I can see the value when practicing, but in a group isn't it necessary to play in tune with each other, not with a tuner? I always understood that the lead, by definition, is never out of tune. I play in a community band with someone who is always checking against the tuner. She's always in tune with the tuner, and occasionally with the band.
