Can't believe I'm headed to New Orleans April 20-25, on a last minute impulsive deal we couldn't pass up. We'll take up residence in the French Quarter, and 'sure would welcome your recommendations on how best to use our time.
Thanks for the Doreen recommendation (http://www.doreensjazz.com/), but I wonder if folks were holding back the last time this topic surfaced. Sometimes a second time around yields even more recommendations.
It's been a decade for me, and I'm a bit more than psyched.

Congrats, Guido, I'm the one who asked for N O rec's several weeks ago, and enjoyed hearing and talking w: Doreen and others in her "band". There were some other "buskers" in Jackson Square well worth listening to, and a night trip along Bourbon and Royal et al will have much musical sound. It was comforable temp when we were there, I'd pick a cool nite for Pres. Hall Dixie/jazz. Take money and walking-shoes, get maps, good food is great but expensive, hope you can find better "Po' Boys" than we did, beignes [sp?] are good too. Most enjoyable meal was way North on Canal, crowded, noisy, Cajun food, inexpensive! Most "beautiful dessert" was on top floor of N O Marriot! Have fun, Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
