Hey everyone,
I'm pretty sure I'm going to Mansfield (in Pennsylvania) this summer. I was wondering if any of you have ever gone or worked there before. If you have I'd love to hear about your expierences. What did you like/dislike, and what level of music is played.
Thanks so much!!

Hey..
I went to MU's Music Camp for 5 years. I LOVED IT! The music wasn't that hard, but everything there is so wonderful. There are many ensembles you can be in.. I was in handbell choir, jazz ensemble, madrigals, choir, wind ensemble and orchestra. Email me at muzikandy@excite.com if you would like to talk more about this! I highly recommend this camp. :o)

I am a graduate of Mansfield University. MU has a very old, well-respected tradition of music. It has the 2nd oldest Concert Wind Ensemble in the country, second only to Eastman. Konrad Owens is the current clarinet teacher there--an Oberlin Grad who also studied in Austria with Alois Heine and with Robert Marcellus. He is a wonderful performer who doesn't have his recordings available to the public. The music department was cited this year for having the best music dept in Pennsylvania and was granted $250Kgrant from the state. The Concert choir won the gold medal in the international choral festival in Europe last year. It's a small school located near the PA grand canyon (Yes, there is a grand canyon in PA...very breathtaking). I encourage people to attend MU--whether it's the music camp or beyond. Have fun! It's a beautiful, historic campus. You will love it. The music department is personable, professional, and dedicated to the students. Check their website. Sandra
