I got this information over at the SOTW Forum from Steve Goodson...
I just got the call: Santy passed away this evening (4/4). He would have been 96 years old on April 8. I'm not at home, and have no details on arrangements, but will post them as they become available.
He was a great friend and teacher to me, and to countless other saxophonists. I was lucky enough to learn much from him. Nobody had more to teach than Santy.
Yet another loss to the woodwind community.

A fine, comprehensive "obituary" is posted on a Yahoo MouthpieceWork Group "thread". Being in Mich and Okla during his very productive years, I never made acquaintance, but was well aware of his talents via the BIG Bands, and his mouthpieces, A GREAT ONE. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

BMy parents bought my first clarinet from Santy in Beaumont, TX in 1963.
He will indeed be missed. He was a legend.
