I have a question for you Poulenc experts. In the 2nd mvt. of the clarinet sonata, on measure 22 on my music and for reference on others if they vary, 5 notes after the second gliss, there is the sequence, B natural to B# on an 8th pair, followed by a C# quarter to D#-E. How should the B-B# be interpreted or is it a misprint?
Thanks

B# is the enharmonic name for C natural.
The passage will sound: B - B#(C) - C#...GBK

Opinion: Interpreting "notation" and given there is no key signature the notes in question are correctly written. Compare the written B sharp in measure 22 on the "and" of 3 to the written C natural on the "and" of 3 in measure 20, the B sharp (recap) is notated enharmonically. The 2 proceeding B naturals in both 8th-note groupings appear to be correct as is. I'm reading off a 1973 Chester 5th Edition, if the B sharp/c natural is specifically a publisher typo I'm not aware of it. v/r Ken
