i'd just my r-13 over the summer and i was baffeled that the nickel plating was already tarnishing at a horribly fast rate. The places that show most of the wear are the register key and especially the Ab key. It there any way possible to resore the plating to a blinding shine again?

Electroplating can be done by an experienced tech at their bench.
Worn nickel plating indicates an inter-action (electrolysis) with the player's perspiration. Can you see the copper baseplating?
The wear points you describe are normal, it just means you play regularly! A silver polishing cloth available from your jewelers
may help when you put the instrument away.
The finish of electroplating is determined by the preparation steps prior to putting the piece into the bath.
This takes time.
Time costs money.
