The last mouth piece I played (which I played on for 3 years) had a chip on the tip and two teeth marks engraved on the back (which I figured the teeth marks were from it's previous owner, since I couldn't remember if it had them when I got it) so I am borrowing a brand new mouth piece from my teacher but I have noticed that teeth marks are starting to develop in the same spot as they were before and I don't want to ruin another mouth piece. Is it something wrong with my embouchure or does it happen to others? and is there any way to stop this from happening?
Thanks in advance, Melissa.

Teeth marks are inevitable on clarinet mpcs, unless you use the double lip embouchure. They have never adversly affected any mouthpiece I have ever played on. If they fit your bite, just ignor them--or get a mpc patch and cover them up. (I don't like playing with patches so I ignor the marks)

Another way is to use a crystal mouthpiece. I have one that is over fifty years old and is in perfect condition.
