 Maccaferri Reeds
Author: John Gibson

Okay...maybe I didn't spell it right. Anyway, I see that someone is selling "new" old stock Maccaferri reeds on ebay. Guy says they're from the '40's. Anyone ever heard of this brand? Are they any good? OR would it be a waste of money to buy them? Auction expires at appx. 9 mst tomorrow night. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

John

John...Benny endorsed them (Anyone want to guess how much money Goodman asked for the privilege of lending his name?)

Read this link:

I think I still may have 1 or 2 around here somewhere. They make interesting collectables.

They sound the way they look...GBK

oops...Spoke too quickly.

I just did a bit of follow up reading on Goodman, and can confirm that neither Goodman or any of the other Maccaferri endorsees (many sax players) were ever paid...GBK
