Can anyone recommend a cloth ligature that holds reeds in place securely? I'm satisfied with my tone using a BG Super Revelation
but my reeds shift often enough to be annoying.

I use a Rovner "dark" and never have that happen. I get a warmd dark, covered sound with it, which pleases me. I would look into Rovners, I have heard of the reed slipping during use of the BG's form many sources that is why i have never bought one.

Get someone to check your m/p "reed table" is absolutely flat. Just a thought.

Maybe your mp or inside of the lig are "slippery". Try washing each in soapy water...and rinsing,of course.

I use a home made velcro ligature. (I have also wrapped string.) I like being able to move the reed a little without having to uncrew & rescrew. I don't think it slips much while I am playing.
