 Eb Clarinet High Notes

Is there a secret to play notes above the second g above the staff of Eb clarinet. I've been thinking about getting harder reeds. Is this a good idea? I'm only play on 3s. I also don't particularly like the sound I get when I tongue: you(Actually "I") can hear the tongue. IT's okay in a large ensemble but by myself it's very annoying.
