-Okay, I know I've posted about pretty much the same problem before, but it's about that same left-hand pinky C-key! After the last time I had this problem I took my oboe in and got parts re-adjusted. But, slowly but surely, the key started sticking again. And faster and worse than before I brought it in.
-Usually, when this key sticks, it will only happen as long as you keep the middle finger of right hand down after pushing down C &/or C# key. Usually the C key would just pop back up if you lifted your middle finger or pushed down either Eb key.
-Right now: If you just hold the oboe and push down the C or C# key (right hand) and let go, the key just stays down. Pushing down the left hand Eb key doesn't even make the C-key come up anymore. But pushing down the right hand Eb key does.
-One problem is that before I brought my oboe in, as long as I kept the screw above the C key (the one facing the RH ring-finger key) the key wouldn't stick or anything. Now, ever since I got my oboe back, I can't make the screw turn at all. I guess it's whatever they do to keep screws from moving. So I can't adjust the screw how I did (how my director showed me) to make it work right. And I don't know why, but now most every piece of music we get in band goes from like a Db-C# to a D or Eb or F and since the C key stays down, the note after the C# sounds like a C!!! It's horrible. Right now that's the only major problem I can think of with my oboe. Can anyone tell me what to do for this. Is there a way to make that screw move? (b/c it won't go in or out)
Any and all advice and help welcome and greatfully accepted. Thanks,
Corinne

I would take it back in and have the repair person loosen the screw for you and then tell you how to adjust the key when it sticks.

okay, all is well now...i fixed it all by myself! it took a while to turn the screw b/c they had (as i had though) put whatever kind of glue stuff they do on screws. anyways, works now...thanks for your advice, i'm sure that if it happens again i will surely use it.
