I am a flute player. However, other woodwind players (e.g. oboe) might have the problem I discuss below, too.
I have listened to expert flute players using flutes of good quality. While playing a fast melody, the fingers hit the keys with such a high momentum that one hears a mechanical noise coming from the keys in addition to the music.
When I play by myself, I have the same problem and I find this noise disturbing. Drying the key pads does not eliminate the problem completely, in addition this may not be possible during a long concert.
Any ideas how to deal with this problem?
