From what i no oboe can reach the thrid line above the scale but i heard that i could go higher is it true?

The third line above the staff is an E, and yes the oboe can reach much higher than that. You will find that with all wind instruments, there is no rigidly defined limit as to how high its range extends. How high the oboe will play depends entirely on the player. The highest I've ever heard anyone reach is the C above that E, which if you count up is the space above the fifth line above the staff. But on this site they have fingerings up to the C# immediately above that. I'm sure the D and higher is possible as well, just again depending on the player.
Most music you will see written for oboe however rarely extends beyond the G, fourth line above the staff.

My highest comfortable range is a G , working on up to A though. Kind of looses the tone I look for after G right now.
If you are looking to play higher, and are rich... I reccomend a musette oboe in Eb ... that will breck some glass:) And ear drums... so be careful!
