 Super Altissimo Clarinet

I've tried and tried and TRIED!!!!!!!
I can't go over an altissimo C.
Has anyeone here gotten to altissmo C# or above?
I know i need some equipment change:]
If you did hit it what mouthpiece, reed, and ligature quipment did you use?

I'm not that good a clarinet player, but I think that embouchure and the ability to put up with pain are the most important things when you are trying out notes in that region!

I assume that you are talking about the C just above the 5th ledger line above the staff. Why do you want to go any higher? The clarinet really doesn't sound all that great up there anyway. If you look at the best of the advanced method books, the altissimo C is considered extremely advanced and just on general sound quality they recommend staying below the G.

Yes above a G is not recommended by ppl, but i'm very anxious to try new things. i'm gona wait till i get a M-13 venduren mouthpiece and german reeds. MAYBE THEN!!!!!!:P

I can get up to the "F" above altissimo "C". Equipment is always important, but at least as important I believe is mentally visualizing what you're trying to porduce-you have to sort of become a brass player. I agree with previous posts that this is of questionable value. However, occassionally working these notes makes playing in the high G-C range MUCH more secure. by the way there are high Cs and Bs in Spohr concertos...
