 List,
I was just informed that I have to double on Contralto Clarinet for a recording gig. Although I play a lot of bass clarinet, never had the chance to play a Contralto.
Is the mouthpiece and reed the same as the bass clarinet or different? Sounds like a silly question, but I have only a few days until this gig and have to act quick.
Thanks
Tom Servinsky

There is no difference whatsoever. And I have found that the cheap ones work WAY better than the more expensive ones.

the contraalto mouthpiece is bigger, unless the one i played is just weird. you should have no trouble playing a contra since you already play bass, except there is more air involved. hope this helps.
