The bigger one is the Tenor!
The next joint for this is also usually bent up then down where it attaches to the body, and the alto is straight at a sloping angle!
xcuse the spelling and grammer!

Tenor is larger than the alto and also has a curved neck, altos on the other hand are smaller and dont have the curve.

hi, that's a great question
that's the most basic question you would come up.
well i am a tenor saxophonist and the tenor if you see the most distint features of it is the curved and longer neck of the saxophone comparing to the alto. however, alto has sometimes a straight and shorter almost 45 degree angled neck.
the tenor obviosly is much heavier than the alto. this means that the bell of the tenor is bigger and the keys are bigger.
also the tenor, in terms of lenght, is longer than alto.
well, if you are still doubted it is a good idea to search in the internet http://www.usahorn.com/ they have a variety of pics of these saxophones and features the great quality of the saxophones. i believe and hope that this site is the best site to determine which one is the alto or tenor.
ok
good luck and peace.

If the neck is curved you are selling a tenor if the neck doesn't have a curve it is a alto
