I am interested in buying a piccolo. What is the better kind between the all silver, all plastic, and silver head with plastic body piccolo. Also, what are the price ranges of each?

If you are going to play the piccolo outdoors, you will want to get plastic. Otherwise, silver or wood. Conical bore has a better scale and responsiveness than cylindrical, but a cylindrical bore is less resistant.
Generally, the plastic is less expensive, and prices for silver and wood depend on the make and model. I personally don't like silver plate, but is is cheaper than "solid" silver.

I usually play a wooden one (teh old piece of school piccolo junk) however I like to play silver ones. i once played one with a gold lipplate, and the tone was incredible. Silver makes for a better tone. Wood has what I find to be an interesting tone quality, which I like. Plastic is goodd for beginners, as well as outdoor practicing. If you frop it, it will be lesslikely to damage- and if it does break, it will cost less to repair/replace.

i think that an all wood one is the best, but then the plastic one i don't think is that bad, then the one that is wood/plastic with the silver head, and then the all silver ones. i think this because of the sound quality of each of them! and which one sounds the "warmest"!

Personally, I prefer the types in this order
Wood
Plastic
Silver
In my own experiences, plastic piccolos have a much warmer sound than silver piccolos. Plus ,they are much cheaper. Maybe this is because the wooden embouchure hole and the plastic embouchure holes are alike.
P.S.- this is a highly personal decision :-}
