They (tenor/alto/soprano) are basically the same except for the length, which allows them to played in different keys and note ranges with the same fingering.

Browse around the following web site for lots of pictures of many different recorders, which are not limited to tenor, alto, and soprano.

The sopranino (the smallest), soprano, alto and tenor all look much the same except for the size. The sopranino is about 9 inches long, the soprano about 13 inches, the alto 18 inches, the tenor 24 inches. Tenor recorders often but not always have a key or two to allow the little finger to reach the bottom notes without having to stretch.

Bass recorders, which are the next step up, are just too big to be handled like normal recorders. They have a number of different features to all the player to reach the holes and to blow in the end at the same time:

THe crook is a bent tube which goes from the top of a bass recorder to the players mouth. Another way to reach the mouthpiece is to have a "bent neck" recorder, also known as a "knick bass". This has an angle in the body so that the top bends back to reach the player's mouth. Bass recorders often a have as many as 5 keys to allow the player to reach the fingerholes.

There are bigger recorders such as the contrabass and sub-contrabass.
