In England if we want to be a pro musician we have to go to music schools and universities. I was wondering how you became a pro musician in america because I know that the majority of people are self-taught.

If you read into the past music experience of most of the musicians that develop throughout the US, you will see that the majority of them are self taught. Self taught meaning that maybe someone has taught them to do the things that they are able to do. In a lot of cases, however, many are taught throughout there years of schooling, and then they just develop an ability to perform. I don't believe that there is anything saying that a musician has to go to a university for performance purposes, however, I am sure that most would suggest it!
