 Stravinsky Firebird Variations
Author: Ben

I only have one recording of the Firebird (Chicago Sym./Boulez) and they take this movement right at 76, as is listed in my excerpt book.

Do any good orchestras/recordings take this movement a little slower?

Is there any range of tempo less than 76 which should still be exceptable in a professional audition?

If your audition panel says "play it a little slower" then of course it's acceptable, but don't assume they ever would.
