I just got a case of mismatched leblanc parts, one of which is an old barrel with the Leblanc Paris logo on it. It has ridged rings, not flat rings. Is there anyway to determine what model of clarinet it came with originally? The only marking I can find is a small V stamped near the bottom.

There are a number of us with at least a bit of familiarity with LeBlancs over the years, [I am one], perhaps they will respond. One of the few "numbered" pro-horn series I recall is the Symphonie, so might this barrel be from a Sym. V [5]? Dee et al?, or 65 mm?? If you have a measuring device, usable for barrel sockets, available that might help. Otherwise, I'd suggest the "little finger test" to get a "feel" of any "steps" between its bore and those of a known-dimension mouthpiece and an upper joint. Luck, Don

The barrel is 66 mm in length. I can't measure the bore directly, but it's slightly bigger than a mpc I measured at .586"; perhaps .590?

Well done, Bryan, it prob. belongs to the era of the 50-70's "big-bore" LeB's , the Dynamics 2 and H, the early Pete Fountains and maybe others. I have a Dyn 2 , my L7 is a bit smaller but it prob. should be OK with it. Someone here was looking for one recently, so if you wish to sell it, try our BB Classifiedes. Luck, Don
