The Red Ludwig site (http://www.redludwig.com/gracenotes/) has an interesting article on Gervase de Payer by the Washington Post music critic.

Thanks. I've been wanting to know more about him since I had a conversation with our local symphony conductor and found out he's a former student of de Payer (and I didn't even know the conductor was a clarinetist).

Very nice article.
WRT the reviewer's information on the lost autograph solo part to the Mozart concerto, I heard it claimed that Stadler, while on tour, pawned his suitcase (and the part) in order to be able to afford the trip back home. Don't ask where I heard it, 20 years ago.
Regards

Gervase de Peyer is still actively playing here in the Washington, DC/northern Virginia area where he lives.

Not only is he actively playing in the D.C. area, but he is still very busy with recording, festivals and concerts throughout US and Europe.
