Will a wooden clarinet light a room better than a plastic one? Is it necessary to stick with one of the "big three" brands to get even illumination? Is an Albert system harder or easier to turn on than a Boehm? What mouthpiece facing will give a brighter light? How about a darker light? How hard would it be for me to double the light with a saxophone lamp if I already have a clarinet lamp?

Wouldn't a saxophone lamp be too prone to vibrato?

TKS, Terry - I [we] needed that [and your EM], my guess is that about half of us will be slightly disappointed with the election's outcome. Don

OK, how many clarinet players will it take to screw in the bulb?

Just one--but he/she will have to go through a whole box to select the one that "glows" best.

Well, it is "slightly used," so it has only itself to blame.

Well, for $284.00 they could at least put the bells on too if it's going to wear a lampshade...

Clarinet lamps are not all bad. Someone gave me one a few years ago, knowing that I had oonce played. It inspired me to take it up again. Now I play in a community orchestra and read this BB.

I've also seen recently lamps made from a flute, piccolo, and oboe.

As one who has been crazy about the clarinet for many years, I find the clarinet lamps hard to look at, even if they are made from a useless instrument. I would never have one.

I really WANT one - but do they come in a contra-bass model?

Diz, that's a great idea... send me your contra and I will make it into a floor lamp for you... no charge!

A clarinet should never be desecrated like that, and yes it is hard to look at.
