I love the story about Sonny Rollins woodshedding on the Williamsburg bridge in NYC prior to recording his incredible album "The Bridge". It makes me think of how music is a bridge in all our lives--- to other people , and perhaps more importantly
to our own souls. What has music bridged for others on this bulletin board?

Cultures...most definitely. Without my experience playing Eastern European folk music with Americans first, I never would have had the appreciation for it when I got to play with native musicians. Also it afforded me the opportunity to meet wonderful musicians last year when I got to visit the Czech Republic, and especially Bulgaria.

It sounds trite, but I really do appreciate the differences between my culture and that of others. (Well, maybe not pop culture! lol)
