Does anyone know the Vorspiel excerpt in Gotterdammerung that is usually asked for auditions? I have the Hinze book, and I'm wondering which Vorspiel section it would be. I can make a pretty good guess, but I'm not sure. Thanks!

I can't remember the exact page, but the excerpts in that book are divided into specific clarient parts, meaning Bb clarinet 1, 2 and Bass clarinet.
One of the typical vorspiels asked from Gotterdammerung is for act 3 if my memory serves me correctly. It is the one being asked for the San Fransisco audition. just go the their website and you can see the exact one lsited there.

Well the San Fran audition only says Vorspiel and does not qualify that with a Act number. One of a number of confusing things that san fran has done. And the Hinze doesn't have the Vorspiel for act III in it, only II, so the choices for the Wagner for San fran are either act I or II. Personally I recorded the first one, but if someone knows more than I please let me know. and if i have the rigth excpert recorded i'll see yall in san fran on the 9 and 10
cheers

I assume you tried to call & clarify the situation? Didn't they respond?
