"Only two ever made. Completely unused".

IMO listing is a bit suspicious, plus the seller has no feedback.

The inference would appear to be a "glass filled("fibreglas") molded nylon" clarinet which would seem to make it a "research project" horn. Nylon tends to be hygroscopic i.e. it absorbs and loses water relatively easily. If in fact it is such an instrument I would expect intonation problems due to dimensional changes with humidity changes. Certainly too much money...in my opinion

I concur with Bob's assessment of this minimal description [has anyone EM'd the seller re: just what this really is??]. I do recall seeing an all-glass oboe [of the 1700's?], all open holes like a recorder, in one of the most luxurious English "great houses" a number of years ago, and wondered about it's manufacturing and playability, maybe it was just for display!!. Dear Mr Moses

"Glass nylon" (which actually may not be the correct term for it;if not we
apologize) is a compound made by ICI which looks and feels like wood, but is
completely wood-free.Boosey & Hawkes made just 2 of these instruments with
this compound, both are in the UK but only this one is for sale.It is
possible that B&H either in the US or here in the UK may have further
information on request. All we can say is that it has come from a former
Boosey & Hawkes factory repairer from Edgware and that it has never been
used.

Yours

Barnaby Marder

I asked the seller to email me a picture yesterday (6/27). So far he has not responded.

Three days later and still no response from the seller on the request for a picture. Not even a courtesy reply.
