I am looking to buy a new double clarinet case, and I think that I have decided on the Orly case. But, before I order it, I was wondering if any of you had any experience with them, and whether you like it and recommend it. What do you like or dislke about them?? Thanks so much for your input!!

I have an Orly triple case. I love the light weight. my triple case full weighs less than my double case with just my horns in it. The only thing i dislike about the Orly, is that there doesn't seem to be much insulation from temperature. And here in Texas, that's just asking for a crack. So i've gone back to using my Buffet double case and Altieri case cover until it cools down some.

I HAD AN ORLY FOR YEARS AND IT WORKED WELL FOR ME- SEEMED TO HOLD UP AGAINST WEATHER AND A LOT OF LUGGING AROUND, TRAVEL, ETC. I'VE HAD IT STUFFED WITH *TONS* OF MUSIC, AND IT NEVER BROKE. I ALSO HEAR THERE'S A NEW CASE, BAEM, I THINK IT IS PRONOUNCED "BAM" THAT'S LIKE ORLY, ONLY SEEMS TO HOLD THE PARTS BETTER INSIDE AND HAS A SHOULDER STRAP, AND BACK-PACK STRAPS AND IS CHEAPER. MAYBE YOU SHOULD CHECK THAT AS WELL. GOOD LUCK

I recently got a Protec double clarinet case, and I thought I'd mention it because of Daniel's comment about temperature insulation: I find that the Protec has excellent insulation from heat and cold. It is a bit larger than the Orly case, I think, but if you live in a climate where temperature is a problem, you might want to consider one. Hope this helps!

I've never cared for the way the ProTec cases look. Much to bulky and not much room for music and accessories. For insulation i stick with my buffet case and Alieri cover with two full span pockets and lots of room inside the insulated space. I use my Orly during the school year when i play Eb on a regular basis.

I'm in the process of looking for an altieri case cover and I've contacted the ww and bwwind Co. but they refuse to reply, how do you know if they get the dimensions right, I know you can order from the company but it's cheaper thought the woodwind and brasswind co.

I purchased mine from IMS. The case covers are built to be a little larger than most cases. That way if you have a large case like a leblanc or something, then the cover fits snug around it, but if you have a thin case like a Buffet or a Pochette case, then there's plenty of room to put other accessories in the cover as well as the pockets.
I actually think the covers were cheaper at IMS than WW&BW. I paid $80 for my double cover.
