(sorry for not spacing my letters)

Did playing the clarinet change the shape of yuor lips?? It looks like my lips changed shape after I played the clarinet. My lips were a little bigger, now they're very thin. And my bottom lip is small(thin) and my top lip's A little bigger. Is this because of the clarinet???

No, but playing the clarinet has shrunk my brain over the years.

No letter spacing? Looks fine to me....
I never noticed anything apart from normal growth patterns, Bb :)
Unlike Dave, however, I determined early on that I wouldn't allow any brain shrinkage -- so I didn't allow too much development to take place in that area in the first place :]

Spacing would have been possible if you had phrased it simpler.

Darn hit the wrong key as I wanted to show a sample of a rephrased title.

That works, Dee.

I'm too stunned to notice any lip change by the impact of the tuba on them; my lips are swollen like a blowfish now!!

Playing clarinet does indeed cause a change in lip shape. I notice, after many years of orchestral playing, that my lower lip conforms perfectly to the arc of the rim of a schooner glass.

Ken

PS "Schooner": Large beer glass found in pubs in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Hence "I'll have a schooner of (insert favourite tap beer), please love/mate." ('love/mate'--depends on who's behind the bar...

Mine have formed a permanent pucker from all of the rear end kissing of inept conductors I've had to play under...GBK

Perhaps an equally pertinent question would be;
Does the shape of your lips determine your ability to play the clarinet?

>Does the shape of your lips determine

Don't know but many years ago when my first choice was to learn trumpet the teacher looked in my mouth and said that my overbite wasn't suitable for that instrument....but I could play clarinet.

I do enjoy the above observations, my having an overbite [perhaps][before the days of frequent orthodonture {sp?}] entered into the earliest advice on my inst. choice. Am too old to recall! Also, in high school, feminine trumpet and trombone players had lots of dates!! Don

Hey I don't know about lips, but playing for 7 years has turned my bottom row of teeth into a royal mess! Anybody else? they're crooked now, and I remember them straight before:)

Not lips - but TEETH. My front two main teeth have been pushed in by the clarinet, as they grew in since I was 8.
As for embouchure choice on instruments when you're younger, in my case that was a load of rubbish. I was only 8 years old, and wanted to play the clarinet 'cause it looked easy and fun.
DLE.
