My son, now a veteran clarinetist of 3 months, would like to hear recordings of multiphonics. Recommendations?
Thanks

Ginny,
Get a hold of Eric Mandat, probably the world's specialist, and he can sell you one of his CD's directly. It's called "The Extended Clarinet" and it's utterly astounding.
You can reach him at (618)453-5828 or by email at emandat@siu.edu That should do the trick!

You can also hear the use of multiphonics on Paul Meyer's CD "20th Century Music for Unaccompanied Clarinet." It's a pretty good cd and can be found at cd stores like Tower or others.

I have a Swedish import of Kjell-Inge Stevensson playing mostly 20'th century works (with a couple 19th century pieces included). On this CD he plays the Edison Denisov Sonata. There's several multiphonics in that piece.
The title is The Virtuoso Clarinet. It's from BIS, and is CD-62.
