Does anyone know where i can find a list of orchestral excerpts. I intend to get the scores and copy them and practice them that way. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

In the ICA magazine last spring or summer (the edition with the funny, blue, watery looking clarinet painting on the front), there was a list of orchestral pieces that are asked for at auditions. I believe they ranked the pieces in order of most to least asked for. They included bass clarinet and eb clarinet as well. I would ask anyone who gets this magazine if you could see that issue and maybe copy the lists.

Re: Miraculous Mandarin. . .this piece shows up frequently on principal and 2nd clarinet auditions. For principal usually the 2nd "cadenza" and sometimes other places. For 2nd clarinet anything goes, although usually the d clarinet stuff is not required unless specifically asked (fortunately, because it is very very hard).

There are all sorts. But I think Emerson do books of orchestral excerpts. I don't know where to get them from because they are in my college library. But they are the ones all the clarinettists in college use. They are in all diffrent volumes and have all the most important orchestral excerpts in them. Hope this is some help.
