I found this posted on the clarinet news group and though you might find it interresting...
<snip>
Benny Goodman bequeathed to the Yale University Music Library all of
his
master tapes, his library of about 1500 arrangements, about 5,000
photographs, 40 scrapbooks, his library of classical music scores, and
numerous other clippings, programs, awards, and memorabilia. The
bequest
includes the rights to unreleased recordings in the master tapes and
to
distribute copies of the arrangments. Jazz selections from the master
tapes are being released on the Musicmasters label (a total of twelve
is
anticipated). Copies of the register of jazz arrangements (300 pages,
bound) are available for $45.00 or via the Web at
http://webtext.library.yale.edu/xml2html/music.Goodman.nav.html . A
database of photographs and the register of the remainder of the
collection
(excluding the master tapes) are nearly complete. The register of
other
papers will be available for purchase in the near future.
Photocopies of the arrangements are available for $75.00 (for sets of
parts
including scores when available) or $30.00 (for scores only),
including postage. Copies are made on heavy stock paper that can be
used for performance.
Please note that scores are lacking in many cases, and that vocal
parts are
almost always lacking. In many cases, the arrangements are
incomplete, as indicated in the register. It is worth mentioning that
we do not hold a complete arrangement of "Let's Dance" as recorded by
the
Goodman band; those listed as "complete" are complete only in the
sense
that all band parts are present.
It may interest you to know that Goodman gave about 430 arrangements
to the
New York Public Library. Inquiries about this group may be sent to
George Boziwick, Music Division, New York Public Library for the
Performing Arts, 40 Lincoln Plaza, New York,
NY 10023-7498.
Yale Music Library's archives also include 300 dance band arrangements
in the
"Red" Norvo Papers and fifteen arrangements in the Eddie Sauter
Papers. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to
write. Thank you for your interest in the Benny Goodman Papers.
Cordially yours,
Suzanne Eggleston Lovejoy

Mitch: I noticed this valuable information as well; it's good of you to post it here. It should be credited to Rich R., who posted it on alt.music.clarinet. He had sought information about the Goodman Archives, and the reply was sent to him.
Regards,
John
