Bob - where are you getting that number? The BBoard main page is at 1.2 million hits, this page at 3.8 million hits.

Since what constitutes a GOOD reed seems to vary greatly from one person to another, and any one person might employ a variety of reeds for different uses, I suggest instead an item which might be of equal value to everyone: a used shoelace ligature.

how about just a NEW reed. Then maybe out of a 100 or so they can find thier own good one.
