i posted awhile ago about a project i'm doing for my conservation biology class about grenedilla wood. i'm writing now to find out if anyone who plays a clarinet made out of this wood would be willing to come and play for my class at the beginning of my presentation and show everyone what this wood looks and feels like. my professor is going to give me five extra minutes for this. i can do it any monday, wednesday, or friday between apr. 19-29, at a time between 10-11am on Boston University campus. you can email me at jamielyn@bu.edu if you can do it, and it would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Jamie--
You're probably just not reaching anyone close to the BU campus. Why don't you try going over to the School of Music and finding a clarinet faculty member or some friendly person in an office who could point you in the right direction? Do you have a friend or acquaintance who is a music major? Ask him or her. Or you might ask someone wandering around with a clarinet. Someone will most likely be available and looking for another solo performance opportunity. Performers love to perform, especially if you could stretch out the five minutes Does your professor know any of the music faculty?.
And have you visited the Selmer or Buffet or Yamaha or Leblanc web sites for some information? Music stores also have free glossy advertising pamphlets, if that helps with material.
Good Luck!!!

Jeez, you are reaching people quite near the BU campus, but I must second that notion. You've got some perfectly fine players over at the School of Music and you should make use of them. If you don't know who they are, go hang out at the orchestra rehearsal. You needn't look so far and wide when you've got steak at home.

Jamie,
While I'm not in a position to help with your project (sorry)...I would love to review your final paper on this topic. If so inclined please upload a copy to Mark Charette for review....the sneezy.org web master. I'm sure that many of us on the BB have interest in this topic.
