The Jewel mpc is made by a guy local to the Detroit Area (I forgot his name - perhaps someone else can help me here). I purchased a Jewel "Concert" mpc for clarint about a year ago. I played on it for a few weeks and decided it was better than my previous Vandorne B45 but still not quite what I was looking for. I settled on a Vandoren 5RVLyre-13.
The Jewel is a decent mpc. I think they are all hand-faced my the maker and I did notice some inconsistancies between various mpc's when I was trying them out (I tried about 6 of them). The mpc I finally chose produced a good tone but did not help my tuning problems the way the Vandoren-13 did.
I *DO* use a jewel concert on my tenor sax. It provides excellent stability with even marginal reeds. I used to play on a Brilhart LevelAir 3 metal mpc (and still do once in awhile) but that mpc required a near-perfect reed and I just don't have the time to work on reeds for all my instruments (I concentrate on the clarinet). Maybe I'll go back to the metal when I get some Legere reeds
I would recommend trying out a few Jewels. You might like it.

last year i was in Columbus (Ohio) at the Clarinet Fest and i found there the "jewel line" in crystal mpc by Pomarico.
since five years i usually used Vandoren B45 but when i started using that ones i was very glad 'bout my choice.
my favourite is the "sapphire mellow" that produces a dark and mellow sound. You should try it!!

I use the jewel mouthpiece on my bass clarinet and it gives me a nice dark sounding tone. But it requires a lot of air. The hite on the other hand gives me the same tone with less air. Try them both out. I do use the Jewel which I love.
