Are there discounts available for new clarinets?

I plan to buy a new high end Yamaha. Are clarinets generally avaiiable thru reputable discounters?

The "list" or "listed" price of a clarinet is basically akin to the "list" price of a car. It's the same game...Most clarinets are routinely discounted by reputable dealers by 30 to 40 percent of their so-called list price. If not...shop around. Many of the more trusted dealers are always mentioned on this site...GBK

Also...there have been some discounts reported on this bulletin board by as much as 50 percent. It seems like a good time to try and make a deal...GBK

Except for products in great demand, one would rarely expect to pay full retail list price for anything!

There's a good upper-end Yamaha running on eBay right now that is being sold by a reputable dealer from Virginia. He offers a trial period and might have others for sale in his store at a reasonable price. It's worth a look.
