anybody else use this as a ligature?

i take a double-sided piece of velcro and wrap it around the reed and cut it off.

works perfectly, never slips, quick to adjust/change/dry reeds.

anybody have a reason i shouldn't do this rather than buy an expensive ligature?

I keep a piece of velcro in my case once in a while, it works remarkably well. I am sure that for me, my real ligatures are superior to the velcro but these things are subjective.

I tried it, but I couldn't get it tight enough. The reed would move while I was playing. String worked better for me, but I stick with my metal Opera ligature.
