Hi!
Just wondering if anyone has any info on the Rosza Sonatina Op. 27 for solo clarinet? (just for the second movement mainly). I have to write about the piece for a performane and I can find heaps of info on Miklos Rosza himself, but nothing much specifically on the piece, like why he wrote it and the characteristics etc etc. I can easily write about the piece but I would like a bit more information before I do so. If anyone could help out I would greatly appreciate it, even if anyone knows of any good web sites that would be fantastic.
Thanks :-)

I have this piece also, along with the Sonata, which I have not done any work on yet.
Can't give you any information you don't have now. I would imagine our editions are the same. Note the year it was written, 1957 (I think) which is around the time period that he wrote the music to the movie "Ben Hur." I think his writing is quite similar to some things in the movie.
Tried searching the internet for information but there is not much I could find. There is a discussion group about him but I don't have the link. He is of Hungarian descent, like Bartok. Try going to the library, there may be some books about composers with him in it. The Groves should have information.
Wish I could be more help. It is a great piece of music. I've worked more on the first movement variations than the second movement. The second movement is a bear at the end.
Good luck.
